I think I was especially impressed by how quickly they seem to be picking up the routines and procedures. This is a true indicator that their parents have set a great foundation at home. (Thank you for that.) I spend a great deal of time fostering independence in my students each year. I can tell that this group will succeed in becoming strong, independent young people.
This weekend, as I brace for whatever bits of Hurricane Irene we may get, I will put all of your e-mail addresses into my contact list and send a test e-mail.
Also, I think I have hammered out our weekly schedule. I will post it on this site and also send it via e-mail. Just know that, as in all things in education, it is subject to change.
On Monday, I will be sending an official Welcome Letter. I have held off on sending it until I had a schedule put together. This will come home in your child's homework binder. It will highlight some procedures in our class, as well as at Mills Park Elem. It will have a portion for your signature, as well as your child's, that will need to be returned to school. I will also keep a copy posted on our website.
Have a great weekend! -Michelle
